Phase-Based Product Scoping (Phase 1 → Phase 2)

Many product failures stem from trying to build the "right" thing before building the "necessary" thing.

I separate product work into phases with explicit intent. Phase 1 focuses on solving the core problem, validating demand, and learning quickly — even if that means accepting tactical debt.

Phase 2 is where reliability, scale, security, and long-term sustainability are addressed deliberately.

Problems arise when teams forget which phase they are in and apply the wrong standards too early or too late.

Phase clarity allows teams to move fast without lying to themselves.
